  • Airdrop

    Free distribution of tokens to wallet addresses, often for promotional or community reward purposes.

  • Altcoin

    Any cryptocurrency that isn’t Bitcoin. Examples include Ethereum, Solana, and Cardano.

  • Blockchain

    A decentralized, digital ledger that records transactions securely and transparently.

  • Cold Wallet

    A crypto wallet that stores assets offline for enhanced security (e.g., Ledger, Trezor).

  • Coin

    A digital currency native to its own blockchain (e.g., BTC on Bitcoin, ETH on Ethereum).

  • dApp (Decentralized Application)

    An application built on a blockchain that runs without a central authority.

  • DeFi (Decentralized Finance)

    A movement to create financial systems without intermediaries like banks.

  • DEX (Decentralized Exchange)

    A peer-to-peer crypto trading platform (e.g., Uniswap).

  • DYOR

    "Do Your Own Research." A common phrase encouraging self-education before investing.

  • Fiat

    Government-issued currency like USD, EUR, or JPY, not backed by a physical commodity.

  • FOMO

    “Fear of Missing Out,” a common emotional driver in crypto markets.

  • FUD

    “Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt,” often used to describe negative rumors or misinformation.

  • Gas Fee

    The cost of performing a transaction on a blockchain (especially on Ethereum).

  • HODL

    Originally a typo for “hold,” now meaning to keep assets long-term despite market swings.

  • Hot Wallet

    A wallet connected to the internet, used for frequent transactions.

  • Liquidity

    How easily a crypto asset can be bought or sold without affecting its price.

  • Mining

    The process of validating transactions and securing the blockchain in exchange for rewards.

  • NFT (Non-Fungible Token)

    A unique digital asset representing ownership—often used for art, music, and collectibles.

  • Private Key

  • Public Address

  • Smart Contract

  • Stablecoin

  • Token

  • Wallet

  • Web3

  • Whale
